The name
HetHeru is one way of writing the Egyptian name of Hathor, Ḥwt-Ḥr, “House of Horus.”
I chose .net on purpose. For me, Neith, the weaver, is a mirror of the web. A thread passes through everything, and everything is connected. That’s what the internet feels like to me, so it felt right to place Hathor’s house inside it.
This is my personal meaning. Below is what the ancient sources say about Neith, kept separate from my own reading.
Neith is an ancient Egyptian goddess, associated with weaving, war and creation, and she was the patron goddess of the Delta city of Sais. Her cult is attested from very early in Egyptian history.
Later texts, notably from the temple of Esna in the Greco-Roman period, present Neith as a creator. Weaving is among her associations. The idea that she “wove” the world is an attractive way of putting this, and is often repeated.
Linking Neith with spiders and webs is a modern, popular reading. I am not aware of ancient Egyptian sources that state it, so I offer it as symbol and meaning, not as history.
Seeing the internet as a web, and a weaver-goddess as its patron, is my own symbolic reading. It is a personal meaning rather than a claim about the ancient world.
